About the role
We operate with short feedback loops, fast delivery times, and an eye toward practical solutions. We iterate on requirements and expect candidates to show an interest in being involved in this discovery.
This is a full-stack position that requires knowledge of Python (and Flask), HTML/CSS, React.
Our team is distributed with an emphasis on the Eastern Timezone in the US. We expect from you a disciplined, mature management of your workload, skilled written communication, and empathy for your team members and their perspectives. We have diverse opinions and expect you to voice yours. We disagree with each other regularly but prefer team success over “being right.” We expect the same from you.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to code: tested, maintainable, extensible, but pragmatic.
- Extend and improve the existing CoalitionRe service.
- Become the primary driver for front-end related development for the CoalitionRe service.
- Interface with Product Team to clarify requirements, provide feedback on required effort
- On-Call rotation participation (this means a regular expectation to respond to incidents outside of regular working hours – it happens rarely and we’d like to keep it that way.)
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science or a related field with at least three years of work experience, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience writing code in a modern programming language, preferably Python.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively convey engineering-related topics to team members.
- A collaborative and team-oriented mindset, capable of working effectively in a diverse and fast-paced environment.
- Effective problem-solving skills to analyze and debug code.
- Curiosity to learn and openness to feedback.
- Autonomous and disciplined approach to work

Compensation
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The US base salary for this position ranges from $99,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $130,000/year in our highest geographic market. Consistent with applicable laws, an employee's pay within this range is based on a number of factors, which include but are not limited to relevant education, skills, job-related knowledge, qualifications, work experience, credentials, and/or geographic location. Your recruiter can share more on target salary for your location during the interview process. Coalition, Inc. reserves the right to modify this range as needed.
