Job Role
Job Summary
The DevOps Engineer will leverage their expertise in DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud deployment options to ensure efficient and reliable software delivery. This role involves working with various DevOps tools and platforms, implementing Infrastructure as Code, and communicating effectively with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand and implement DevOps, CI/CD in an enterprise context.
- Utilize PaaS and cloud deployment options.
- Apply software/application engineering background with experience in DevOps tools and platforms such as OpenShift, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Gradle, Maven, and their equivalents.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code using CloudFormation, Terraform, or equivalents.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, tailoring messages appropriately to the audience.
- Solve complex problems, triage issues, determine action plans, and see them through to completion while keeping stakeholders informed.
Qualifications
- Firm understanding of DevOps, CI/CD in an enterprise context.
- Experience with PaaS and cloud deployment options.
- Background in software/application engineering with experience in DevOps tools and platforms (OpenShift, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Gradle, Maven, etc.).
- Infrastructure as Code experience with CloudFormation, Terraform, or equivalents.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage complex issues.
- Automation mindset.
- Knowledge and experience of the software development life cycle, ideally with Java or Go-based development teams.
- Understanding of end-to-end infrastructure including networking, firewalls, load balancers, application servers, etc.
- Exposure to test automation, test-driven development (TDD), and agile delivery practices.
- Understanding of monitoring and observability tools such as AppDynamics, ELK, AWS CloudWatch, AWS XRay, etc.
