Position Summary
The Virtual Building Inspection Assistant serves as a critical field liaison between licensed building inspectors and construction sites throughout the St. Cloud, Florida area. This role involves extensive travel to both commercial and residential inspection sites to conduct on-site visual assessments, capture detailed photographic and video documentation, and provide real-time information to remote licensed building inspectors for review and decision-making. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical knowledge of construction with excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently in the field.

Key Responsibilities
Field Inspection Support
• Travel to inspection sites throughout St. Cloud and surrounding areas for both commercial and residential projects
• Conduct on-site visual assessments under the remote guidance of licensed building inspectors
• Capture high-quality photos and videos of construction work, ensuring all required angles, details, and conditions are documented
• Provide real-time information to licensed inspectors via live video streaming, phone calls, or digital communication platforms
• Guide on-site personnel (contractors, homeowners, project managers) through the inspection process to ensure thoroughness and compliance
Documentation and Reporting
• Generate detailed inspection reports with comprehensive photo and video documentation
• Maintain accurate digital records of all site visits, findings, and communications
• Log inspection findings in company databases following established procedures
• Compile and process final packets for Certificates of Occupancy or Completion
Scheduling and Coordination
• Process inspection requests and coordinate site visit schedules
• Manage multiple daily site visits across various locations efficiently
• Communicate scheduling changes with inspectors, clients, and contractors
• Assist clients in meeting construction goals and timeframes
• Identify and report conflicts or issues with scheduling
Technical and Administrative Support
• Utilize digital platforms and software for documentation, communication, and reporting
• Review construction plans for basic compliance with codes and regulations
• Provide virtual guidance and feedback to on-site teams based on inspector direction
• Perform data entry and maintenance of company databases and records
• Troubleshoot issues that arise during site visits or remote inspections

Qualifications and Experience
Required
• High school diploma with at least 3 years of relevant experience in construction, inspection support, or related field
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record and reliable transportation for daily travel to multiple sites
• Strong knowledge of construction principles, building practices, and quality control standards
• General understanding of building codes and regulations for both commercial and residential construction
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat
• Experience with digital communication tools, video conferencing platforms, and mobile documentation apps
• Excellent photography and videography skills with ability to capture clear, detailed images

Physical Demands and Work Environment
• Extensive daily travel to commercial and residential construction sites throughout St. Cloud area
• Work in various environmental conditions including outdoor construction sites, weather exposure, and unfinished buildings
• Physical ability to walk construction sites, climb ladders, navigate uneven terrain, and access confined spaces
• Lift and carry equipment and materials up to 25 pounds
• Stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods during site inspections
• Vision requirements include ability to adjust focus, distance vision, and close vision for detailed assessments
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by site conditions
