Position - Value Engineering Specialist
Department – Building & Infrastructure
Report to - Technical Manager
Key Working Relationship - Technical Manager / Team Leader
Minimum Required Qualifications
Specialty:
- Conduct systematic value analysis and value engineering studies
- Identify cost reduction opportunities without compromising quality
- Develop alternative design solutions that optimize performance and minimize expenses
- Perform detailed cost-benefit analyses
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, production, procurement)
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
Training / Awareness
- Advanced structural analysis techniques
- Cost-Benefit Analysis techniques
- Value Methodology
- Risk Assessment Methodologies
Technical knowledge
- Proficiency in cost estimation techniques
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of: Engineering principles, Manufacturing processes, Cost management, Design optimization
- Strong structural engineering fundamentals
- Advanced understanding of national and international construction standards, including BS, EN, and ISO regulations
- Proficient in interpreting technical drawings
- Understanding of compliance reporting and record-keeping requirements
- Ability to generate comprehensive reports and present findings effectively
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey technical information to various stakeholders
Experience
- Minimum 8 years’ experience of value engineering experience in construction, Infrastructure development, civil engineering projects, Industrial facility construction, renovation and restoration works

- Analyze existing product designs
- Generate innovative cost-reduction proposals
- Create detailed cost 3D and 2D models
- Evaluate alternative materials and manufacturing methods
- Develop prototypes for proposed design improvements
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations
