Position: Certification Technical Officer
Location/ Department: Government Services - Islamabad
Key Working Relationship: Technical Advisor MER / GS Manager KSA / Deputy Technical Manager / Technical Manager
/ Conformity manager.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Specialty: Knowledge of VoC Expertise process related to government programs.
Education: Bachelor degree / Engineering or standards background.
Experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience.
Technical knowledge:
- PC skills
- Basic knowledge about product conformity assessments
- Knowledge of types of discrepancies (detected during document review, inspection and/or testing)
- Master review of conformity documents
- English proficiency
- Communication skills
- Cargo Inspection procedure
- Knowledge about product conformity assessment procedures
RESPONSIBILITIES / AUTHORITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES
Primary Functions
- To verify conformity documents of the files allocated to him/her, as per the applicable standards, related VoC procedures (ISO 17065 and ISO 17020) and country regulations.
- Checking of inspection reports for the files allocated to him/her, mainly for VoC Technical aspects & report inspector’s performance with regards to quality and accuracy.
- Responsible for evaluating the application technically and submit for review.
Primary Functions :
- Responsible for documentation of the technical files relevant to the applications.
- Authorized to manage product certification process requirements of relevant certification scheme.
- Acquisition and maintenance of a good knowledge of the VoC market & certification schemes
- Contribute to the overall technical development of VoC & certification schemes
- Coordination between the Inspection Activities and Technical/ Commercial activities.
- Coordination between LOs/PICs for VOC activities, as applicable.
- Provide clear instructions to Inspectors regarding Samples, Technical aspects, warnings and so on.
- Guide clients on VoC Technical concerns, when required.
- Share good practice between BV technical services and the customers through the coordinator
- Continuous acquisition and maintenance of technical knowledge of the VOC procedures, programs, requirements and standards.
- To consult Sharepoint for update of VOC procedures/relevant information for all programs.
- Meeting objectives set by his/her N+1.
- Reporting of discrepancies and difficulties met in reaching quality goals / time schedules to N+1.

QHSSE Responsibilities
- Implementing BV safety programs within the team
- Comply at all times with all applicable legal requirements, BV HSE Policies, procedures and practices.
- Maintain personal work areas tidy and hazard free and report any deviation/fault/hazard immediately to the location manager/line manager/HSE Representative
- Report immediately to HSE Representative any newly identified hazard and participate in devising suitable operational control to eliminate/minimize the pertinent risk.
- Report immediately to HSE Representative any HSE incident and cooperate in investigating, Reporting all incidents and taking action whenever they see an unsafe act or condition.
- Take care of your own health and safety and that of people who may be affected by what you do (or do not do).
- Co-operate with others on health and safety, and not interfere with, or misuse, anything provided for your health, safety or welfare.
