Our Mission and Opportunity
Early education is one of the greatest determinants of childhood outcomes, is a must for working families, and has lasting social and economic impact. Brightwheel’s vision is high quality early education for every child. We pursue this by directly supporting teachers in the classroom, engaging parents in the development of their kids, and enabling the small businesses that make up the backbone of the $175 billion early education industry. Brightwheel is the most loved technology brand in early education, trusted by tens of thousands of providers and millions of educators and families.
Our Team
Our team is passionate, talented, and customer-focused. We embody our Leadership Principles in our work and culture. We are a distributed team with remote employees across every US time zone, as well as select offices in the US and internationally. Our exceptional investor group includes Addition, Bessemer, Emerson Collective, Lowercase Capital, Mark Cuban, Notable Capital, and others.
You’re a senior product leader who thrives in ambiguous, high-ownership environments and is excited to build foundational systems that shape how customers discover, adopt, and grow with brightwheel. You believe in smaller, empowered teams that move quickly, and are energized by large, cross-cutting problems where AI, product-led growth (PLG), and customer experience intersect — and where success meaningfully impacts company-level outcomes.
You are:
A product leader who has owned business-critical product surfaces or systems end-to-end
Fluent in PLG principles and how in-product experiences drive adoption, retention, and expansion
AI-forward — you actively use AI to increase leverage, velocity, and learning, and have experience shipping or evolving AI-powered product experiences
Comfortable defining strategy in ambiguity and translating it into clear bets, roadmaps, and success metrics
An effective executive communicator who can influence direction, align stakeholders, and make tradeoffs visible
A strong owner who takes responsibility for outcomes, not just delivery
A boundaryless builder — you prototype, automate, design, and ship using AI as your co-builder to turn problems into durable solutions that deliver customer value with urgency and care
What You’ll Do
This is an individual contributor role with significant scope, high visibility and impact, and direct partnership with our CEO and CTO. You’ll:
Own a high-impact, company-critical product area that materially influences brightwheel’s growth and customer outcomes
Partner closely with the exec team, and senior leaders to shape direction, pressure-test strategy, and drive alignment
Define and evolve product-led systems that help customers realize value faster and more consistently across the platform
Lead strategy and execution for AI-powered product experiences, partnering closely with engineering, design, data, and GTM teams
Identify and prioritize the highest-leverage opportunities using a mix of data, customer insight, experimentation, and judgment
Design, run, and learn from experiments to validate hypotheses and inform larger investments
Define success metrics, monitor performance, and clearly communicate progress, learnings, and tradeoffs to leadership
Raise the bar for how brightwheel builds product-led, AI-enabled experiences
What You Bring
We are open to a variety of backgrounds, but strong candidates usually bring:
7+ years of product management experience, ideally in SaaS or product-led businesses
Proven ownership of complex, cross-functional product initiatives with measurable business impact
Strong product judgment — you know how to place big bets, sequence learning, and balance speed with quality
Deep comfort with product metrics, experimentation, and funnel analysis (SQL a plus)
Experience building or scaling AI-powered product experiences
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including with executive audiences
A mindset of ownership, curiosity, and continuous improvement
Experience leveraging AI to expand your own scope and ownership, using tools and automation to move faster, go deeper, and operate more like a full-stack product owner across problem discovery, design, and execution (bonus)
