EQUANS are recruiting for an Painter Decorator to be based in Belfast. This is a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, van and fuel card and benefits package.

General Overview

The Painter & Decorator is responsible for preparing surfaces and applying paint, wallpaper, and other finishes to interior and exterior surfaces of buildings and other structures within residential and commercial properties managed by the company / client. This role ensures that all painting and decorating work meets high standards of quality, contributing to the aesthetic appeal and maintenance of the properties.

Key Accountabilities

  • Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling cracks, and removing old paint or wallpaper.
  • Apply paint, varnish, stains, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
  • Hang wallpaper and other decorative wall coverings with precision.
  • Repair and touch up existing paintwork, ensuring a seamless finish.
  • Mix and match paint and finishes to meet colour and texture requirements.
  • Maintain and clean tools and equipment to ensure their longevity and performance.
  • Protect furniture, flooring, and other surfaces from paint splatters and damage.
  • Follow health and safety regulations and company policies while performing tasks.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
  • Any other reasonable management request.
  • Use of PDA system to manage all day to day tasks

Who are we looking for?

Qualifications or Required Experience:

Essential:

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Painting and Decorating or equivalent.
  • Valid CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card.
  • Basic knowledge of Health & Safety regulations in Construction
  • Proven experience in painting and decorating, including surface preparation, application, and finishing.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high standard of workmanship.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to painting and decorating work.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Please be advised that the successful candidate will be required to complete a Basic Access NI check prior to commencing employment.
