We are seeking an experienced Commercial Operations Manager (ComOps Manager) to join our team and drive commercial operational excellence across all regions.

About the Role:
The Commercial Operations Manager is responsible for steering tender leaders, strengthening risk review processes, and engaging personally in complex proposals and negotiations. This role focuses on improving the efficiency and capabilities of bid and customer-facing teams in risk management and positive differentiation. You will drive change through best practice consolidation, localization, and improved rigor in deal-making to ensure better customer outcomes while protecting the company.
The position reports directly to the Chief Commercial Officer.
Key responsibilities:
- Organize and follow up on tender reviews internally and at Equans group level.
- Steer tender leaders and commercial teams in quality assurance of proposal build, including risk and approval management, and ensure proper handover to projects when won.
- Drive preparation and follow-up of Risk Committees at Equans group level when required.
- Support the design and implementation of proposal standards and new commercial models to increase order volume and market reach (e.g., Connectivity as a Service, third-party hosting).
- Lead quality initiatives across bids and proposals to drive value creation, simplification, and improved customer outcomes.
- Establish training, on-the-job coaching, and mentoring to enhance risk management and negotiation skills within customer-facing teams.
- Engage personally in complex deal negotiations with customers and partners.
- Ensure performance measurement through KPIs, trend analysis, proposal post-mortems, and customer feedback.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Business or Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Sales, Commercial Operations Management, or Contract Management.
- At least 2 years of experience in solution proposals and bids.
- Experience in a B2B sales environment, ideally across public and private sectors.
- Experience working in a multi-territory sales organization.
- Fluent in English; additional European language is a plus.
- Strong contractual and negotiation skills.
- CRM proficiency (Salesforce or equivalent).
