Role Purpose
We are seeking a skilled Design Engineer within our Audio Visual team, who will be responsible for delivering high-quality, customised AV solutions that meet rigorous engineering standards and legislative requirements. You will collaborate closely with sales and technical teams to create tailored system designs, support pre-sales activities, and engage directly with customers to understand and address their requirements.
Leverage your deep audiovisual knowledge, to prepare technical documents, lead client presentations, and act as a vital liaison between departments to ensure successful project outcomes. Participate in marketing and industry events, maintain expertise in the latest AV technologies, and document all engineering work clearly and comprehensively. Safety, teamwork, and customer satisfaction are at the core of this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Sales Representatives and Technical Consultants to design customised AV solutions.
- Provide pre-sales technical support and product education to sales teams, customers, and prospects.
- Prepare tender documents and sales materials to support business development.
- Interpret customer requirements and translate them into effective engineering designs.
- Deliver technical presentations that demonstrate product and service benefits.
- Maintain comprehensive product knowledge of AV technologies and solutions.
- Liaise with internal departments to gather technical expertise and support sales activities.
- Support marketing initiatives by attending trade shows, conferences, and industry events.
- Document professional engineering reports including design briefs, scopes of work, root cause analyses, and technical roadmaps.
- Comply with all health, safety, and environmental policies, and actively promote a safe working environment.

Required Qualifications & Experience
Education & Experience:
- Technical certificates or licences in a relevant field.
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience as a customer-facing AV Engineer, Solution Architect, AV Commissioner, or similar enterprise role.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of network technology, AV control systems, unified communication/video conferencing (UC/VC), and AV over IP.
- Experience designing with AV vendor products such as Crestron, QSC, Biamp, Extron, Cisco, and Logitech.
- Familiarity with unified communications platforms including Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex, and Zoom.
- Proficiency in AV design and documentation software like D-Tools, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and BIM 360 / Revit.
- Experience with commercial security system design is advantageous.
