Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical bias)
Location: Southwark, London
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 (dependent on skills & experience)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am – 6pm (including part of on-call rota)
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias to join Equans Sustainable FM. This leading role requires strong expertise in building services maintenance, applying your trade skills to complete planned and reactive maintenance and repairs efficiently. You will work both independently and collaboratively, maintaining electrical plant and equipment and integrating closely with mechanical and fabric maintenance teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a broad range of maintenance and repair tasks on electrical systems, HVAC, and fabrication
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance, including distribution board checks, emergency lighting, fire alarm and sprinkler testing, TMV testing, and shower head descaling
- Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergency situations
- Work individually or with trade teams, ensuring effective communication across departments
- Participate in on-call rota and undertake relevant training to qualify as an Authorised/Competent Person for electrical systems
- Supervise and train maintenance assistants, trainees, and apprentices when required
- Adhere strictly to Health & Safety policies and company procedures
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of engineering building services maintenance, strong electrical trade skills, and the ability to manage both planned and reactive maintenance independently. Effective communication and a proactive approach to safety and training are essential.
