Rail Baltica is a greenfield rail transport infrastructure project with the goal of integrating the Baltic states into the European rail network. The project involves five European Union countries – Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, and indirectly also Finland. It will connect the cities of Helsinki, Tallinn, Pärnu, Riga, Panevėžys, Kaunas, Vilnius, and Warsaw.
We are currently looking for an intern to:
- Provide support to the Earthworks team in planning, reporting and data preparation activities.
- Develop fundamental understanding of earthworks processes, sequencing and constructability on a large-scale infrastructure project.
- Assist Engineers in collecting data, preparing basic analyses and participating in site reviews.
Key Responsabilities:
- Support basic quantity take-offs and sketches for Earthworks planning purposes.
- Assist in preparing tables for Earthworks phasing plan.
- Collect productivity data from market/subcontractors and structure it in spreadsheets.
- Support daily/weekly earthworks reporting.
- Prepare draft meeting notes for internal earthworks planning sessions.
- Maintain a simple action list and update statuses based on team instructions.
- Support preparation of interface notes with Design, Geodesy, Environmental and Logistics teams.
- Gather basic information from.
- Assist in preparing procurement packages.
- Participate in site visits and collect observations to support constructability reviews.
Your Profile:
- Active student in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Geotechnics or a related field.
- Motivation to learn how earthworks are planned, executed and controlled on large infrastructure projects.
- Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, PDF tools).
- Ability to communicate in English.
- Curiosity and willingness to ask questions when something is unclear.
- Good organisational skills (keeping notes, preparing small lists, maintaining files).
- Willingness to visit site and observe field operations.
- Interest in developing CAD or quantity take-off skills in the future.
Internship should begin in early 2026
