Procurement Manager

Equans is looking for a Procurement Manager to join our team on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role, on offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle and benefits package.
General Overview
| The expectation of a Procurement Manager’s role is for them to be responsible for maximising delivered financial value and enhancing visibility and perception of Procurement within Equans P&C. This would be measured by successfully and smoothly implementing new Supplier/ subcontractor contracts and delivering ongoing value and savings in line with the Procurement Policy & Strategy. |
The role requires to establish excellent working relationships with multiple contracts across a number sites, becoming a trusted advisor to these contracts and the conduit (Business Partner) between them and the wider Procurement team.
What will you deliver?
- Deliver procurement support across the business to drive profit improvement and cost certainty with a strong focus on optimised best business practice, fiscal performance, risk management and compliance.
- Delivering consistent and professional Procurement services to internal customers
- Delivering value (including bottom line savings) on an ongoing basis, meeting specific in-year targets whilst proactively looking for new opportunities.
- Engaging with internal Stakeholders to understand the requirement and support in delivering Procurement solutions that match these.
- Be a driver in raising the visibility and perception of Procurement.
- Managing suppliers who deliver services that are specific to the Business Unit and sourcing new suppliers who are best able to meet the needs of the Business, ensuring best value, fitness for purpose, risk reduction and a quality service to the end customer.
- A collaborative flexible approach and close working relationships with other procurement team members, including category across the UKBU and wider procurement group is essential.
- Identify opportunities to deliver value by alignment with our Category approach and manage the successful delivery and transparent reporting of deliverables.
- Identifying innovation for delivery to our end customers.
- Streamlining procurement processes and procedures.
- Delivering and exceeding on our sustainability commitments.

Who are we looking for?
Essential:
- Proven experience in procurement management within the construction or engineering industry.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement law, and supply chain processes.
- Demonstrable experience in supplier negotiation, cost analysis, and contract management.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) qualification or equivalent professional accreditation (or working towards).
Desirable:
- Degree in Business, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
- Experience in public sector frameworks or regulated procurement environments.
- Knowledge of sustainable procurement and modern slavery compliance standards.
- Line management or team leadership experience within a procurement function.
