We have an entry level opportunity to join our Financial Accounting team, on a 1-year fixed term, based at our Haywards Heath office. You will be working in a professional and friendly environment, and you will have the opportunity to learn SAP and develop your Excel skills further. The role will consist of mixture of data entry work and broader accounting duties i.e. VAT, Reconciliations etc. Work life balance is important to us at Bouygues, so the role offers a Hybrid working pattern, 2 days in the Office and 3 days working from home.

Job Purpose and Scope:

To support the Financial Accounting Team by processing sales and purchase ledger, payments and journals with a key eye to detail and adherence to controls. Key focus is on Contributing – able to query backup and ensure consistency of approach and Collaboration – support for the whole team.

Skills required:

  • Basic knowledge of financial processes and understanding the importance and implementation of internal controls
  • Planning – thinking ahead
  • Ability to maintain accuracy whilst processing large volumes of data
  • Good at managing relationships particularly with the business / customers
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Your Educational level should demonstrate abilities in numerical subjects

Key Accountabilities:

  • Complete tasks for 9 small entities as defined in desk top procedures to pre agreed timetable, including sales and purchase ledger, bank, VAT and intercompany reconciliations
  • Verify, prepare and process manual payments for four operating companies
  • Daily banking for two operating entities
  • Prepare inter-company invoices for four operating entities
  • Assist with audit preparation and ad-hoc tasks as required
  • Be focussed on internal controls and compliance
  • Challenge existing ways of working and develop a continuous improvement culture
  • Instil a customer facing culture to enable the delivery of best-in-class services to all stakeholders
