Roster: 8/6 FIFO from Perth or Local Kalgoorlie Resident
Are you an experienced electrician ready to take charge in a dynamic underground mining environment? We’re looking for a hands-on leader to oversee electrical operations, drive maintenance excellence, and champion safety across our underground site.
In this pivotal role, you’ll lead a skilled team of electricians, manage installations and upgrades of electrical and communication systems, and respond to breakdowns with precision. You'll also play a key role in deploying automation technologies like RCT Tele-Remote and AutoMine systems.

What you will be doing
Key Responsibilities
- Perform installation, maintenance, and upgrades of electrical systems across underground operations.
- Complete scheduled servicing and statutory testing of all electrical assets.
- Respond to electrical faults and breakdowns on mobile and fixed plant equipment.
- Install and maintain underground electrical and communications reticulation systems.
- Commission and maintain ventilation fans, substations, lighting, dewatering, and communications infrastructure.
- Carry out electrical servicing of underground mobile drilling and mining equipment.
Leadership & Coordination
- Supervise and lead a team of underground electricians to ensure timely execution of:
- Daily maintenance and repair tasks
- New system installations
- Breakdown response and recovery
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate planned maintenance and minimise production downtime.
- Support the rollout and commissioning of automation systems including:
- RCT Tele-Remote Systems
- AutoMine Systems
- Remote bogging systems
Technical Expertise
- Conduct advanced fault-finding, diagnostics, and component-level repairs.
- Provide hands-on support in PLC analysis, modification, and monitoring.
- Organise and supervise test and tag activities in line with applicable legislation.
- Assist with infrastructure projects and electrical system upgrades.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all electrical work complies with:
- Australian Electrical Wiring Rules
- Mine Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations
- Company standards and safe work procedures
- Maintain accurate electrical logs, work orders, and compliance records.
- Contribute to ongoing development of safe work procedures and operational strategies.
- Champion a safety-first culture and lead by example in the field.

What you need
- Proven leadership capabilities with experience managing small electrical teams.
- High-level skills in:
- Underground mining electrical systems
- Leaky feeder communication systems
- HV and LV infrastructure (installation, maintenance, fault-finding)
- Surface and underground diagnostics and repair
- PLC system analysis and troubleshooting
- Demonstrated ability to manage workload effectively and meet maintenance schedules.
