What makes this a great opportunity?

As the Snr Manager, On Premise Channel Development, you will own the channel strategy and “how to win” agenda. This role translates category opportunities and innovation plans into channel specific playbooks covering segmentation and executional standards, ensuring strategies are customer-ready, scalable, and adopted by Sales. It sits at the center of channel, category, and innovation decisions with high cross functional visibility and direct impact of growth priorities.

Reports to: Director, On Premise Channel Development

Direct Reports: none (may lead project teams/cross functional workstreams)

Key Partners: Sales, Category Development Managers, Innovation Commercialization, Brand/Marketing, RGM/Finance, Supply/Operations/ Commercial Capability

Role Responsibilities

Location: New York or Chicago

Channel Strategy and segmentation: Maintain segmentation for assigned channel segments (s); identify growth opportunities, risks, and competitive implications.

Channel Playbooks and Outlet Standards: Develop channel guidance for:

P1. Product Assortment: recommended SKU priorities and portfolio roles by priority segments

P2. Pricing: channel price positioning guidance and key price-pack architecture input from RGM

P3. Placement: serve strategy to win on menu

P4. Promotions: promo mechanics and program calendar guidance

P5. People: training needs to drive bartender and staff recommendations

P6. Point of Sale: POS and activation needs by channel

Sales Enablement & Adoption: Build and refresh Channel playbooks, Outlet Standards, Selling stories, and Scorecards for sales execution.

Innovation Plans: Partner with innovation commercialization to define channel guidance for innovation (target channels, timing, execution requirements, success metrics)

Performance Management: track channel KPIs, produce regular performance readouts, diagnose gaps, and recommend corrective actions; run test-and learn pilots and scale proven tactics.

Cross-functional alignment: Coordinate inputs from Category Development, Sales, and Brand teams, ensure recommendations are executable given supply, customer constraints and field capability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 5-8+ years in channel strategy, category management, sales strategy, trade marketing or commercial planning (CPG/spirits preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to translate insights into practical execution standards and sales tools
  • Strong analytical skills (opportunity sizing, performance diagnosis) and disciplined project management
  • Effective cross-functional collaboration and include without authority
  • Strong communication skills; able to build clear, customer ready narratives.

Salary Range - The salary range for this role based in Chicago is $140,000 to $150,000 along with an annual bonus, 401K match, profit sharing, and medical and wellness benefits. The salary range is commensurate with the candidate’s location, experience, and skillset.
