Health & Safety Supervisor

This opportunity will help us continue to be leaders for Safety in the bourbon industry. This role will interact with all employees to ensure a safe workplace.
Role Responsibilities
Coordinate and ensure compliance of all required Safety regulations from both a preventive and incident response position.
Administer a comprehensive education program directed to supervisors and employees on Safety, Health and OSHA rules and regulations.
Coordinate monthly Supervisor Safety Meetings, job safety training and new employee orientations.
Assist in the investigation of all accidents and ensure that proper reports are filed in a timely manner; facilitate root cause problem solving meetings.
Act as a liaison between the individual department managers, scheduling department an Company physician.
Administer first aid for minor injuries and emergency response for serious injuries following Blood Bourne Pathogens regulations.
Assist in the case management of all active Workers’ Compensation claims, including the preparation of statistical data of Workers’ Compensation injuries and illness to present to senior managers on a quarterly basis through the Management Safety Meetings.
Assist with the administration of plant fire protection and detection systems, including active participation as a fire brigade member. Maintain required inspection records on hoist equipment, sprinkler systems, fire protection pumps, valves, hose stations, extinguisher and a cross referenced filing system for all SDS sheets.
Administer the plants Drug Free Workplace Policy. Coordinate drug screens as required.
Ensure proper filing of all OSHA or DOT mandated compliance records including DOT Driver’s Qualification files and performing annual driver’s qualification reviews. Retain as required by law.
Assist in purchasing various first aid and safety supplies and/or equipment.
Keep abreast of all OSHA, DOT and other applicable regulations, both federal and state levels.
Inspect areas of extreme danger and give specific instruction/procedures associated with confined space entry, hot work permits, demolition work, asbestos removal, etc; consult with workers and department manager on safe work procedures.
Coordinate emergency response during disaster situations such as fire, tornado, flood, etc. Coordinate with outside agencies as required. Maintain all additions, deletions or corrections to the Emergency Response Plan.
Provide procedures and other documentation necessary to facilitate the completion of Learning Management System Assessments.
Adheres to and promotes quality, environmental, health and safety as one of the organization’s business priorities.
Support health and safety activities for public facing activities and events.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in EHS or related field.
Minimum one- three years of safety prevention program administration experience.
Working knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and other applicable regulations.
Working knowledge of ISO 450001 Management systems
Must be willing to obtain Emergency Medical Technician certification.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Ability to make critical decisions and stay calm in emergency situations.
Good communication and organizational skills.
Working knowledge of computer operations.
Must have good general mobility, be able to climb stairs, walk up to 100 yards, stoop and bend.
