This role will support the mission of developing passionate brand builders and evangelists by delivering exceptional, tailored and flexible content and knowledge to the right people at the right time. In this position you will play a crucial role in implementing and optimizing the vision of the Founders’ Institute. Education with the Founders’ Institute is not limited to studying history and processes; we must foster emotional connections to our brands through the power of storytelling and human ingenuity. This role will interact with key stakeholders on a global scale including Global Brand Houses, Founder’s Way, On Premise teams, Advocacy and Trade partners, Product Development and Sensory R&D, Commercial Excellence, MBC, and more.

The ideal candidate will have experience in marketing or project management with a focus on brand building. This is a unique role that demands versatility and creativity to be successful. The ideal candidate must have demonstrated experience leading cross-functional projects with a variety of stakeholders and interests. This role requires flexibility in daily tasks and the ability to manage many moving parts across a range of projects and deadlines. The ideal candidate should embody the Suntory behaviors of OMOROI (inventive, fun, intriguing) and KAIZEN (continuous improvement, optimization).

Role Mission

  • Lead the industry in the creation of best-in-class spirits education spanning brand heritage, category deep dives, production overviews and sensory trainings
  • Support the vision of The Founders’ Institute as a hub of excellence and expertise for the global organization internally as well as for key external partners
  • Mange bespoke, full service education programs for distributor partners including The Academy of Excellence for SGWS capturing thousands of users each quarter
  • Support the department’s cross functional goal of winning in the On Premise and creating a route to commercial excellence through resource enablement for key trade and advocacy partners
  • Provide strategic and targeted reporting on all curriculums and programs for content and user experience optimization

Role Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
In this role you will:

Create content that brings to life the stories and heritage behind our world class portfolio of brands

  • Conduct historical research to audit existing materials and create additional content
  • Copywrite course scripts for topics ranging across brand, category, and process
  • Partner with Global Brand House leads to co-develop and own brand specific content creation
  • Partner with Distillery Teams, Brand Ambassadors and a range of subject matter experts to schedule and execute production shoots in support of the Head of Design and Department Lead for The Founders’ Institute
  • Leverage the support of external agency and contractor partners in the development of content

Work across multiple departments throughout the global organization, fostering partnerships to achieve success

  • Maintain connection with The Founder’s Way and Global Brand Houses to support the Brand DNA and foundations for BSI’s Brand Building model
  • Partner with MBC and Global Innovation & R&D to support the creation of best in class sensory education
  • Support the Global Mixology team, Trade Engagement, Global On Premise and Commercial Excellence

Take ownership on key projects, with the autonomy to drive decisions
Drive engagement across the organization through strategic comms plans and event production

  • Leverage cross functional partnerships to ideate and produce live events both virtual and in person to provide engaging education and build community across the global organization
  • Socialize The Founders’ Institute goals and resources through a strategic global communications plan, leveraging our internal corporate platforms in partnership with Corp Comm

Work in partnership with the Product & Program Manager on data analytics
Track internal and external engagement data across our curriculums and content through regular reporting
Support the Product & Program Manager on the maintenance of our various software platforms and systems
Work in partnership with Procurement to secure program materials to support curriculum incentives and live event activations
Work in partnership with Legal to ensure ongoing compliance for all materials and programs owned by The Founders’ Institute

Qualifications

Desired Qualifications

  • Education: BA
  • 3+ years of experience in marketing or project management
  • Leadership ability; can champion a project through the organization and overcome obstacles to reach the end goal
  • Independent thinking; comfortable providing recommendations supported by fact-based rationale
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and stay organized in a fast-paced environment with aggressive deadlines
  • Truly excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to present to large groups and produce live and virtual events
  • Experience with backend systems and platforms
  • Demonstrated experience pulling data and delivering excel reports to key stakeholders
  • Fast learner with the flexibility and ambition to wear many different hats and work on a wide range of projects
  • Enthusiasm for spirits and education with a desire to create impassioned brand guardians across a global organization
  • Desire to learn and elevate your own understanding of our brands, spirits categories, processes, and sensory science
  • Experience in the alcoholic beverage industry preferred
  • Experience in spirits/general education preferred
  • 10% travel expected

Salary Range

The salary range for this role is a base salary of $100,000- $115,000 along with an annual bonus, 401K match, profit sharing, and medical and wellness benefits. Salary range is commensurate with candidate’s location, experience and skillset.
