Analyst, Commercial Finance

This role supports one of Beam Suntory’s largest regions and can be a stepping stone to future finance opportunities in the commercial business, or a transition to a corporate role. Role Responsibilities
- Opportunity to work with cost center and finance leads budgeting operating expenses on an annual & bi- annual basis based on forecasting needs
- Provide quarterly reviews to leaders to support local planning and business decisions.
- Prepare accurate operating expense reporting, conduct monthly variance analysis and partner with cost center and finance leads to ensure monthly forecasts reflect understanding of key dynamics
- Prepare month-end accounting entries and work closely with regional teams to ensure they understand the financial impact of the entries.
- Monitor and report results during monthly/quarterly/annual close process
- Complete all financial close deliverables, requirements include balance sheet variance to forecast, as well as preparation for the quarterly reviews
- Prepare and/or review account reconciliations monthly to ensure all accounts are compliant with IFRS accounting guidelines. Analyze financial results to identify balance sheet risk or potential accounting breakdowns.
- Support for both internal and external audits as related to US commercial operating expenses
- Partner cross-functionally to manage process improvement projects, to foster greater accountability and to improve efficiency throughout the region.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting.
- Strong analytical and qualitative skills with the ability to manipulate, mine, and analyze data for key insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required to develop and maintain cross functional and key working relationships across the organization.
- Understanding of accounting principles and balance sheet management.
- Knowledge of SAP, EDW & Tableau financial applications and systems preferred.
- Ability to conceptualize and think creatively.
- Specific experience in the spirits, beverage, or consumer reports business would be a plus.
