Job Description

Own end-to-end site operations.
Ensure the critical metrics for safety, cost, quality, and on time delivery are met.
Manage and maintain pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, and proper storage of medications and supplies.
Coach and develop a team of Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Fulfillment Coordinators, Delivery Support, and Couriers to optimize quality and patient experience.
Implement and enforce safety protocols for employees, couriers, and other site visitors while ensuring ongoing preparedness for emergencies and extreme events.
Manage staffing, scheduling, workflows, hiring, performance evaluations, and disciplinary action.
Establish and maintain quality assurance and improvement programs to ensure accurate dispensing and patient safety.
Oversee deployment, training, and standardization of company policies and procedures.
Partner with finance to analyze financial data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement for the site.
Establishing a continuous improvement culture.
Incorporate the principles of 5S and Kaizen into problem-solving efforts.

Ensure that the pharmacy is compliant with:
Local, state, and federal rules and regulations regarding the practice of pharmacy
Third party payor contract rules and regulations
Policies and procedures as set forth by Alto
Ensure the pharmacy remains in good standing with all applicable regulatory bodies including the State Board of Pharmacies.
Occasional assistance with medication dispensing.

A Bit About You
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy and a Licensed Pharmacist (RPh) in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy in the state where the pharmacy site is located and also in good standing for any Non Resident Licenses as dictated by business strategy
Previous experience as a Pharmacy Fulfillment Manager or leader of a large mail order/fulfillment center/hospital system pharmacy
3+ years leading a high-performing pharmacy operation and managing a multi-function, specialized staff
5+ years experience leading a team of Pharmacists as a Pharmacist-in-Charge
Expertise maintaining pharmacy compliance and interacting with regulatory authorities such as the State Boards of Pharmacy and the Drug Enforcement Agency
Experience making data-based decisions using analytical tools such as Excel, Tableau, or Looker to collect, analyze, and interpret data for operational excellence
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters of Business Administration or similar
1+ Years managing end-to-end pharmacy business operations, including pharmacist patient interactions, delivery courier oversight, and/or inventory management
Expertise establishing and improving complex workflows within a high-volume fulfillment operation
Experience using lean, Kaizen, or similar continuous improvement methodologies
APICS, Six Sigma, or other certification

Additional Physical Job Requirements
Physical requirements for this role include the ability to work at a computer terminal with monitor, keyboard and mouse for extended periods of time, frequently move around the pharmacy away from the computer terminal, stoop, bend, and reach for equipment and supplies, make frequent repetitive motions required to operate a computer and other pharmacy equipment that include the wrists, hands and fingers, and lift, carry, push, pull, and move objects up to 50 pounds. The role also requires the ability to effectively communicate through verbal interactions, discern auditory information, and visually perceive details to perform essential job functions.

Salary and Benefits
Salary Range: $134,400 - 168,000
Commission Eligible: No

Travel: Yes - This is an in-pharmacy position.
Location Requirement: Employment at Alto is limited to individuals residing in the following states: Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Kansas, Maryland, Missouri, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Washington (WA), and Wisconsin.
