Job Description:

Satair is looking for a Production Process Manager to join our team in Dulles, Va.

The Production Process Manager is a pivotal role within Kitting Operations, acting as the bridge between high-level process architecture and operational execution. Beyond standard production planning, this individual serves as the Process Owner Delegate, holding primary responsibility for the design, documentation, and governance of all kitting workflows within the Quality Management System (QMS).

The role requires a rare blend of deep SAP technical expertise (specifically in complex troubleshooting and transaction reversals) and strategic stakeholder management. You will be responsible for ensuring that all kitting activities are not only efficient and on-time but also strictly compliant with engineering definitions and aerospace regulatory standards.

In support of Warehouse Operations, our team members support everything from receiving to packing and shipping of materials. The warehouse is at the core of our operations, assuring that Team Airbus members and our customers get the materials they need to be successful.

Your Working Environment:

Located minutes away from the Washington Dulles International Airport, and approximately 30 miles from the U.S. Capitol, this site serves as our major parts distribution hub in the Americas. The facility is a 24/7 fulfillment center, with an Aircraft on Ground (AOG) support desk, and Quality Assurance (QA) operations. To best support our customers, our 20,000-square-foot warehouse features a brand new technology called Autostore, aiming at increasing productivity.

Your Challenges:

Primary Responsibilities:

Process Ownership & QMS Governance (40%)

  • Act as the Process Owner Delegate, maintaining and updating all operational procedures within the Quality Management System.

  • Collaborate closely with the Process Architect to design, map, and implement workflow improvements.

  • Ensure all kitting operations remain in strict alignment with corporate quality standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Manage and document changes to operational processes, ensuring all impacted departments are consulted and informed.

  • Conduct regular process audits to identify gaps between documented procedures and actual floor operations.

Kitting Operations & Production Execution (40%)

  • Oversee the preparation and delivery of kits in accordance with engineering data, Service Bulletins, and Airworthiness Directives.

  • Manage the creation and maintenance of BOM kits in SAP to ensure technical definition alignment.

  • Review and authorize the closure of production orders, ensuring kits meet all "ready-for-install" criteria.

  • Serve as the escalation point for technical issues impacting the production flow.

Stakeholder Alignment & Supply Coordination (15%)

  • Act as the primary liaison between Kitting Operations and other departments (Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program Management).

  • Lead alignment meetings to ensure process changes do not create bottlenecks in the upstream or downstream supply chain.

  • Define kit delivery schedules and identify critical paths for major programs.

Additional Responsibilities: (5%)

Your Boarding Pass:

Required

  • University Degree in Engineering, Business, or Quality Management.

  • Advanced SAP Knowledge: High competency in SAP modules related to production and quality governance.

  • Aerospace Expertise: 5+ years of experience with specific knowledge of Service Bulletins and Airworthiness Directives.

  • Ability to travel up to 10% Domestic and International

  • Demonstrated experience within Google Suite ( Excel/Sheets) SAP

Preferred

  • Process Mapping: Proficiency in tools/methodologies used for workflow visualization (e.g., Visio, Lean Six Sigma).

  • Quality Management: Deep understanding of QMS frameworks and aerospace regulatory standards.

Travel Required:

  • Ability to travel up to 10% Domestic and International

Citizenship:

Authorized to work in the US without current or future need for visa sponsorship

Physical Requirements:

  • Onsite or remote: 100% On Site at the warehouse in IAD

  • Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings.

  • Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms.

  • Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications.

  • Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts.

  • Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 50lbs.

  • Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 50lbs.

  • Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools.

  • Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer.

  • Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.

  • Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor.

  • Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice.

  • Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.

  • Personal Protective Equipment required: Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site

  • Administrative position only PPE required: Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visit, appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor.
