About the RoleAs the Director of Sales & Education, you will own and lead our strategic retail sales and field education initiatives, with a core focus on Sephora North America. You will be responsible for scaling in-store performance, strengthening brand education, and driving top-line growth across key regions. This role requires a seasoned leader who brings a proven track record of developing high-performing field teams, delivering sales results, and cultivating retailer relationships.
Key ResponsibilitiesRetail Sales Strategy & Execution
- Develop and execute national retail sales strategy with a primary focus on Sephora—including appropriate budgeting and planning for education, eventing, sales team, sampling, and other trade marketing initiatives.
- Analyze POS data and sales KPIs to identify growth opportunities and drive action for both retailer brick & mortar stores and retailer dotcoms.
- Collaborate with internal planning and marketing teams to optimize merchandising, assortment, sales materials, and in-store programming.
Field Team & Education Leadership
- Hire, train, and lead a national team of regional sales and education managers and freelancers.
- Set store-level sales goals and resourcing goals that ladder up to channel-level KPIs identified in partnership with retailer HQ and Act+Acre leadership teams.
- Monitor sales performance of the field team—rewarding for overperformance and addressing underperformance swiftly and professionally. Communicate insights back to Operations and Marketing Teams monthly, at minimum.
- Design and implement scalable education programs and onboarding tools instilling best-in-class scalp care product education that complies with both our brand and certified trichology principles—via materials tailored to Sephora's evolving needs.
- Conduct regular market visits to coach team members, audit in-store execution, and build store-level relationships.
Event & Activation Management
- Lead all Sephora-facing in-store and regional events, including masterclasses, trainings, and launches—including initiative proposals, budget management, and executional processes.
- Ensure field events deliver measurable ROI and align with brand storytelling.
- Partner with Marketing to localize and activate community-building initiatives.
Trade & Visual Marketing (Bonus)
- Support in-store visual merchandising and promotional programming.
- Spearhead trade marketing on strategic initiatives such as sampling, GWPs, and campaign localization.
- 5+ years of experience in beauty or wellness, with at least 3 years in a senior sales or education leadership role.
- Must have experience working brand-side with Sephora (HQ and field level).
- Proven track record of building and managing field teams and achieving retail sales targets.
- Strong presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Understanding of retail merchandising and field marketing best practices.
- Passion for clean beauty and wellness; dynamic leadership style with a hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset.
- Bonus: Background in trade marketing or visual merchandising.
