Job Description
Position Overview: As the Retail Supervisor at The Plaza Boutique & Eloise™ store, you will play a pivotal role in driving our commitment to exceptional customer service and a luxury retail experience at The Plaza Hotel. The supervisor will oversee a sales team to reach revenue goals, maintain and create visual merchandising displays, and ensure a seamless shopping experience for our guests across in-store and digital channels. Your expertise in retail sales will be crucial to achieving our revenue targets and enhancing the shopping experience for Eloise™ and Plaza customers from around the world.

Summary of Responsibilities: Reporting to the Retail Operations Manager your key responsibilities will include:
Compensation: $32/hour plus commission
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Retail Sales: support sales staff during business hours, including covering breaks and setting the daily and weekly tasks for the boutique. Assist with hotel guest, online, and inter-department requests.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and develop the sales staff, fostering a high-performance culture resulting in customer service excellence and revenue goal achievement.
- Store maintenance: Ensure the store is clean and polished, enforcing visual merchandising standards and store policies in line with The Plaza brand.
- E-Commerce Support: Fulfill BOPIS orders. Assist guests to fulfill their orders both in store and online, supporting an omni channel shopping experience.
- Inventory Management: Drive the monthly floor set model, ensuring timely and accurate organization of inventory for optimal customer service. Ensure proper stock levels in store for fast selling product and collaborate with leadership to create an exit strategy for slow selling product.
- Business Analysis: Monitor and analyze business trends, resulting in actionable insights to support sales goals for in store and online.
- Operational Support: In a small-team setting, flex across store functions during peak periods—supporting inventory counts, stockroom operations, and guest service in partnership with the Retail Operations Manager
Skills and Competencies:
- Ability to achieve sales goals through team development, merchandising, and marketing
- Strong leadership: ability to work well in a small, tight-knit team and motivate/support sales associates
- Computer and POS proficiency, experience with Shopify
- Adaptable; Reliable; proficient in time management, delegation, and multitasking.
- Professional presentation and demeanor.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Flexibility to work varied hours/days based on business needs.
- Comprehensive understanding of retail dynamics
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Proficiency in hands-on management, inventory systems, and e-commerce portals
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical ability to sit and stand for extended periods, and to move and handle projects up to 50 pounds throughout the retail outlets.
Qualifications:
- Previous leadership experience in retail required.
- Highly responsible, reliable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows applications and/or Point of Sales systems required.
- University/College degree in a related discipline preferred.
- Revenue-driven mindset with a focus on results.
- Ability to maintain focus on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.
- On-site presence required; remote work not applicable
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
Desired Qualifications:
- Visual Merchandising expertise
- Discern and advocate for effective practices concerning pricing strategies and sales goals
- Photoshop, photography skills, and content editor skills an asset
- Marketing and social media interest
- E-commerce experience
- Previous experience in the hotel industry
