Job Description

Position Overview: As the Retail Supervisor at The Plaza, you will play a pivotal role in driving our commitment to exceptional customer service and operational excellence. You will oversee the sales team, maintain visual merchandising for the store, and ensure a seamless shopping experience for our guests across in-store and digital channels. Your expertise in retail operations and e-commerce will be crucial in enhancing an omni channel sales strategy.

Summary of Responsibilities: Reporting to the Retail Operations Manager your key responsibilities will include:

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Onsite Retail Support: support to hourly staff during store hours including covering for breaks and being onsite until store close. Assisting with hotel guest and inter-department requests. Stock and inventory system support for back of house as needed during heavy shipping periods.
  • Inventory Management: Drive the monthly floor set model, ensuring timely and accurate organization of inventory for optimal customer service.
  • Inventory Management: ensure proper inventory for fast selling product and implement an exit strategy for slow selling product.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and develop the sales staff, fostering a high-performance culture in store.
  • E-Commerce Oversight: Audit the online store to ensure accurate product listings, pricing, and inventory levels, while updating the e-commerce website to enhance user experience.
  • Shipping: oversee and execute shipment of online orders and delivery requests for in-store purchases
  • Business Analysis: Monitor and analyze business trends, managing inventory flow and sell-through rates. Communicate actionable insights to the Retail Team.
  • Buying Process Advisory: Provide insights into the buying process, utilizing historical data, reports, and customer feedback to influence inventory levels and sales strategies.
  • Operational Efficiency: Make recommendations for improvements within the stores and e-commerce platform to achieve operational efficiencies.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Ensure high standards of customer service are maintained both in-store and online, responding promptly to customer needs.
  • Store maintenance: Ensuring the store is clean and presentable, following visual merchandising standards, and that store policies are adhered to.
  • Sales reporting: Running reports on sales, profitability, and costs to meet quarterly sales goals and implement goals for the team

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and decision-making capabilities.
  • Proficient in time management, delegation, and multitasking.
  • Computer and POS proficiency, experience with Shopify

Compensation: $32.00 per hour

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Physical ability to sit and stand for extended periods, and to move and handle projects up to 50 pounds throughout the retail outlets.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours/days based on business needs.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in hands-on management and maintenance of e-Commerce websites and portals
  • Comprehensive understanding of retail dynamics, encompassing marketing strategies, product development, competitive analysis, consumer insights, industry trends, and usability principles
  • Meticulous attention to detail

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows applications and/or Point of Sales systems required.
  • University/College degree in a related discipline preferred.
  • Revenue-driven mindset with a focus on results.
  • Previous experience in the hotel industry is an asset.
  • Professional presentation and demeanor.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
  • Highly responsible, reliable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain focus on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.
  • On-site presence required, remote work not applicable

Desired Qualifications:

  • Shopify experience
  • Photoshop, photography skills, and content editor skills an asset
  • Visual Merchandising expertise
  • Discern and advocate for effective practices concerning pricing strategies and sales goals
  • Ability to work well in a team and motivate a sales team
