Job Description
The Maître D’ is responsible for orchestrating the guest arrival experience, managing table flow, and overseeing host team performance. As the lead ambassador at the front of house, this role ensures all guests are greeted with warmth and precision, and that VIP service and pacing are upheld throughout the shift.
This full-time position has an hourly rate of $30.00 per hour.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead all host stand operations, managing seating chart, waitlist, and pacing strategy
Personally welcome high-profile and returning guests, ensuring appropriate recognition and service alignment
Coordinate with kitchen and floor managers to ensure smooth table turns and guest satisfaction
Handle guest complaints or seating concerns discreetly and effectively
Train and supervise host team members, ensuring service consistency and appearance standards
Maintain open communication with management regarding floor flow and service gaps
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in a high-volume or fine dining setting, including team leadership
Strong knowledge of reservation platforms and guest management tools
Track record of handling VIP clientele with discretion and confidence
Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
Highly organized, with a natural command presence

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas
Ability to move safely in uneven terrain or in confined spaces
Remain active, constantly moving, or prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer throughout work shift
Medium Work: Exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of constantly moving objects, may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
